The Central University of Himachal Pradesh is established with a vision to be recognized as a ‘Research University’ with greater emphasis on creation of knowledge vis-à-vis revival of Indian Traditional Knowledge and Practices. The university is aimed at providing equitable and inclusive access to multidisciplinary higher education for all with a focus on quality, excellence and relevance.

Innovative and technology based integrated and inclusive education is being provided in a disciplined, dynamic, vibrant and hygienic environment in the university. We try to nurture our students with a string emphasis on all three aspects of integrated and holistic development of the student education e.g. physical, intellectual and value education.

We promote continuous engagement between university and industry to produce industry-oriented graduates. The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is established in every university to develop a mechanism for systematic reviews of study programs, and to ensure quality teaching-learning, research, knowledge generation and support services standards at an acceptable level. Understanding the emerging need of quality in higher education, the IQAC was established at Central University of Himachal Pradesh on 29th August 2014 vide notification no. 1-6/CUHP/GA/2010-Vol.II/6398-6418 and 25th June 2019 vide notification no. 1-6/CUHP/GA/2010/Vol. XI/3305-10.
The IQAC is committed to excellence and innovation in learning, teaching, and research and continuously strives to improve its learning environment and update its curricula as per vision of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh. The IQAC is assisting in centralizing quality assurance activities at different departments of the university covering both the campuses i.e Dharamshala Campus and Dehra (Sapt Sindu) Campus
The IQAC assures the stakeholders-students, faculty, administrative staff, quality circle members, funding agencies and society in general - of the accountability and transparency in the quality management system of the university. The IQAC is responsible for ensuring that the quality assurance policies and procedures of the university are robust and effective in maintaining and monitoring the standards of academic awards and supporting the enhancement of teaching, learning and research experiences in the university.
I am happy to sate that since September 2020, the IQAC has become a permanent educational wing of different departments of the university where one faculty of each department is contributing to ensuring the quality in academics, innovation in learning, teaching, and research and working as an independent player for the development of the IQAC. The IQAC is dedicated to the greater improvement of the university. I look forward to your valuable support and cooperation in this new journey of IQAC. With kind support and encouragement of the Chairman of the IQAC (Vice Chancellor), the IQAC at Central University of Himachal Pradesh will play a pioneering in Higher University Education in Himachal Pradesh.
