School of Life Sciences

India is known for its diversity and CUET exam provide platform to secure admission in Central University of Himachal Pradesh from different state of country and become new member of the school for this academic year. However, the hope of entering this school is not limited to national students, but is extended to many who are interested in life sciences. Of course, member of society are welcome. Education, research and outreach work to improve the quality of life. We lead in the areas of Life Science to help the community members maximize their opportunities for success.

The School of Life Sciences at the “Central University of Himachal Pradesh” comprises of three Departments, namely Department of Animal Science, Department of Plant Science, and Centre for Computational Biology & Bioinformatics. As a whole School is rich in faculty, PG students, Research Scholars and various other sate of art facilities, which make this school a unique place of study. The various teachers are highly trained and alumni from different international and nationally reputed Universities. Research work is very encouraged in the school and published high impact research in international peer reviewed journals every year. The faculty of school places a strong emphasis on interacting with students and encouraging their intellectual and professional development.

Intake capacity for PG Programs in three different departments is 114 students. Currently more than 38 students are pursuing PhD in school with different research problem. We are also offering certificate course for skill development and entrepreneurship in mushroom, apiculture, fisheries and PG Diploma in bioinformatics. Students of the school are getting hands-on training on basic and analytical instrumentation facilities in school which gives them a competitive advantage over their competitors.

The school of life sciences has opted various best practices for overall growth of its new member like, orientation programmers, exposure visits and mentor mentee interaction are key among them. Eminent parsons deliver periodic lectures, students are taken to study tours, seminars on assorted topics are held in the department.

Various co-curricular activities are organised by Vaidya Sushen Club, Monal Club and Jyothimanikam Coding Club-M130 of Department of Plant Science, Department of Animal Science and Centre for CBB respectively.

Remedial and tutorial learning help the students to gain new skills under the guidance of faculty mentors. Special attention is given to weak learners so that their studies are not hampered. We have a clear vision for the future and are ready to convene the requirements of changing world.
