Prof. (Dr.) Sat Prakash Bansal, An Academician par Excellence and A Man of Substance, joined Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala as Vice Chancellor on 28th July 2021. In addition to this prestigious assignment, he is currently also acting as Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.
Prof. (Dr.) Sat Prakash Bansal is currently the Vice Chancellor of Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala. He has been former Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur; Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, Indira Gandhi State University, Rewari; Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidaylya, Khanpur Kalan, Sonepat & former founder Vice-Chancellor of Maharaja Agarsen University, Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
Apart from these major responsibilities, he is also Governing Council Member of AIU (Association of Indian Universities),Chairperson, and also member of AIU National Working Group,All India Board of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Chancellor(Vice President) Nominee in Punjab University, Chandigarh; Governing Council Member of National Law University of Himachal Pradesh; Member, Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM); Visitor(President) nominee of Board of Governors of IIM Amritsar and LNIPE, Gwalior. In addition, he is member of various academic and administrative bodies of prestigious educational institutions of national importance. He is popularly known as ‘Institutional Builder’ across academia. He has been a front-leader in implementing various recommendations of NEP-2020 across various parts of the country as being expert member of NEP 2020 implementation committees / sub-committees constituted by Ministry of Education (MoE) / University Grant Commission (UGC), GOI. He is also associated with various top level academic bodies of the country such as; MOE, UGC, NAAC, AICTE, NCERT, AIU and MoT as an expert member and involved in almost every decision making process.
He is also the Chief Editor and Editor of various International and National Journals of repute. He has completed 11 research projects of National Importance and authored 25 books and presently holding more that 11+ patents. He has visited more than 25 countries for academic and research pursuits as well as to enter into academic collaboration through signing of MoUs with foreign educational institutes/universities.
He has written about 90 research papers/articles and successfully guided 21 PhD research scholars.
