PhD in Commerce is a full time doctoral program offered by the department to inculcate the research
scholars with basic, applied, and analytical knowledge associated with business and management and to
apply their acquired knowledge and skills to promote inquiry, discover solutions, generate new ideas,
and communicate their research. The research scholar has to pass rigorous six months course work and
will explore and conduct research ethically and as per global standard on the issues concerning locals or
national importance.
- Eligibility:
- Master's degree in Commerce discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its
equivalent grade (a relaxation of 5% marks for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/
Differently-Abled candidates).
- Must have qualified either UGC-NET (Including JRF)/SLET/ GATE/Teacher Fellowship
Holder/M. Phil/Himachal Pradesh Kendriya Vishwavidyalaya Shodh Patrata Pariksha
(HPKVSPP) or any other eligibility criterion as notified by UGC from time-to-time.
- Credit Requirements: 120 Credits
- Selection Criteria: Based on UGC-JRF/NET/written test merit plus academic qualification and
research aptitude.
- Duration: 3-6 years (one year relaxation to female candidates).
