The programmes of the School reflect the diversity and excellence of Social Sciences from diverse vantage points ranging from new economic policy, geo- political and strategic issues, look east policy, Genealogy and Tribal History, International politics, labour and welfare economics, cultural studies, social change and social empowerment, inclusive growth, and community development. These salient features of the programmes offered by the School are reflected in the comprehensive curriculum, which ranges from traditional disciplines of political science to social work, History of India and the world, Sociology, Anthropology, Theory and practice of Economics, and Regional Studies. The school got a significant insight from the modern social thinkers such as B.R. Ambedkar, Deen Dayal Upadhayay, and Mahatama Gandhi in developing course curriculum for teaching, and conducting research for the benefit of society and economy.
